By removing the top layer of cement, the aggregates are revealed throughout the entire surface creating a durable, natural exposed stone texture full of character.

The coarseness of the surface ensures a non slip finish every time, perfect for driveways, entryways, stairs, landings and pathways. While this texture can be cause for concern with barefoot comfort, it is important to remember everyone will have a different opinion, and our methods can be adjusted to allow for a less sharp finish if appropriately planned for.

Stunning Honed Aggregate

Honed Aggregate is a modern take on the exposed aggregate style. Inspired by Polished and Terrazzo style concrete, but more suitable for outdoor use.

The aggregates are revealed by grinding the surface away, leaving a smooth yet slip resistant surface. Characterised by a shimmering sheen and elegant final form, while just as robust as other concrete and very easy to clean.

Another benefit that is often over looked is the way the finishing process effects the product. With typical concrete finishing techniques, the top layer is worked to create a texture. In most decorative styles, the concrete bleeds water to the surface during the finishing process which increases the water to cement ratio, making the top layer weaker. Over time this can cause the surface to wear away due to heavy traffic and weathering. Aggregate mixes negate this by completely removing that top layer, exposing the robust inner core of the concrete.
